This improves consistency in data collection. (Google will automatically apply this change for you unless you already have a Google tag)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Easier access to advanced features<\/strong><br>Enhanced Conversions, Cross-domain tracking, and Autoevents can now be toggled directly within the Google tag settings. No more digging through nested GTM settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Smoother data collection with User Provided Data<\/strong><br>If you\u2019ve accepted Google\u2019s Customer Data Terms of Service, GTM will now automatically collect User Provided Data across events\u2014no extra steps needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Does This Affect Me?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s find out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2705 <strong>You\u2019re probably fine if<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>You only use GTM for tracking (no tags hardcoded on site)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You\u2019ve already installed a Google tag in GTM and are using that for Google Ads tracking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udea8 <strong>You <em>might<\/em> be affected if<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>You\u2019re using both hardcoded Ads tags and GTM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You\u2019ve got old tags lurking in your code<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You haven\u2019t touched your tag setup in a few years (you know who you are)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to Do Before April 10<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are in the potentially-affected group, we recommend running a quick test:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Add a Google tag to your GTM container manually<\/strong> before April 10<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use <strong>Preview mode<\/strong> in GTM to check if anything fires twice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you notice double counting, clean up hardcoded tags or adjust your firing triggers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leave the Google tag in place &#8211; no changes will be applied on the deadline.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Still Not Sure?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>No worries\u2014tracking setups can get messy fast, especially if multiple people have touched them over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"blog-proposal-middle\">\n\t<div class=\"blog-middle-line\"><\/div>\n\t<span>If you\u2019re unsure, or if you want a second set of eyes before April 10, reach out to us at <b>support@digitalposition.com<\/b>.
